The historic Ruta del Cid (El Cid's Route) and the Ruta del Duero meet in this area. The most important spots in the Ruta del Cid are Castillejo de Robledo, Gormaz and San Esteban de Gormaz, with a beautiful sample of Soria Romanesque architecture. The Ruta del Duero waters the open countryside at Gormaz and Berlanga, surrounded by many Romanesque churches. Burgo de Osma has a beautiful natural scenery and archaeological sites. The vineyards along the sides of the river Duero, as it meanders its way through Soria, add extra beauty to an area full of watch-towers, orchards, and sleepy villages with intact samples of vernacular architecture.
