  • Camino de Santiago. Vía de la Plata

    . Ruta de la Plata is the name given to the area between the Gulf of Cádiz and the coast of Cantabria which links the authonomous regions of Andalucía, Extremadura, Castilla y León and Asturias. This area of immense natural beauty and numerous historical cities has become a tourist attraction for many due to communication links.

  • Canal de Castilla

    . This impressive piece of hydraulic engineering was built in the 18th and 19th century to get rid of surplus grain.

  • Ruta del Duero

    . The Ruta del Duero is one of the most important cultural routes in the south of Europe.

  • Ruta de Carlos V

    . Carlos V, the Medieval emperor, was a keen globetrotter and chose Castilla y León for his final trip. Today, this historical and geographical route passes through 24 cities in the region.

  • Camino de la Lengua

    . Castilla y León, known as the birthplace of the Castellano language, offers one of the most historical and cultural routes of today.

  • Ruta del Cid

    . The famous personage of El Cid Campeador, the epical and historical mounted knight from Castilla, can still be felt in Castilla y León.

  • Cañadas

    . Six of the nine Cañadas Reales which have existed in the Iberian Peninsula since the Mesta, pass through the region of Castilla y León. These cattle tracks, considered cultural heritage, are only to be found in Spain.

  • Vias Verdes
